We have a lot going on in our lives. We're working on adoption. We're getting the new bedroom ready, and hopefully repainting the guest bedroom. (Wow, sanding the walls and trim is not a fun job! If anyone enjoys doing this, please let us know. We have a lot of rooms to repaint! We'll make you brownies.)
Today we celebrated Shawn's 30th birthday. It's so fun to spend the entire day together just doing fun stuff. It was a great day of good eats, lots of messages and phone calls from family and friends, a movie, cake and presents!
And, to top it all off, we've been trying to think of a vacation spot for the summer. We just really need to get away and have some fun. And an opportunity came up that we just couldn't pass on - we'll be subletting someone's apartment for a week, a couple of blocks from....well, Central Park. Really?! I couldn't believe it. This is going to be an amazing trip, and we thought that now is the time to do it, because we hope to soon have a 3rd family member and I'm sure he/she would not enjoy traipsing around NYC with us quite yet.
Our home visit is set for June 23rd so we're working hard on paperwork and getting the house ready for a visit.
