We've changed routes and we're working with an adoption agency, Bethany Christian Services. After months of paperwork, reading books, taking online classes, the home study, interviews and creating a profile book, we're finally to the "waiting" stage. I thought all of those other steps would be the hard part, but the waiting part is difficult. But we're making the most of it by not focusing on the waiting, but living life to the fullest and enjoying each day together.
We haven't had much free time, but Shawn has gotten several projects done around the house. We have the new front door, as you can see on the blog. We also woke up one night and heard water gushing. We ran into the guest bathroom and the toilet tank had cracked and water was pouring onto the floor. Thankfully, it had just started leaking. Shawn installed a new toilet and put one in the master bathroom too, so I think we'll start seeing a savings in our water bill very soon, which is great!
We also had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year. We stopped first at my Mom and Dad's, and on Thanksgiving day went north to see Dad's family. We stayed a couple of nights at Kelli and Jake's, and then swung down to see Shawn's family because his aunt from Michigan and cousin from Illinois were in town. The following week we went back to see Shawn's family because his sister and her family from Michigan were in town for an early Christmas. We also brought Grandpa and Uncle Arthur with us from Alabama, so it was a full house! We had an awesome time. It was fun to spend so much time with so many parts of our families!
